battery pack design

Thanks to our experience on different applications we can take care of the mechanical and electrical design of the whole battery pack.

  • Cells Selection. The suitable lithium chemistry is the first step of a successful project. Cells type choice shapes battery cost and performances

  • Module Design. Pouch, prismatic or cylindrical cells have different mechanical and electrical requirements when it comes to module design. We have experience on injection molded or aluminum module cases, bus bars with integrated sensors and bms integration.

  • Battery Enclosure. When designing the battery enclosure, we use CAE methods and Simulation software to balance weight, resistance, power density requirements. Beside that, we can take care of the electrical and thermal management routing as well as the connector positioning.

  • Thermal management. Different solution can be designed: active or passive dissipation, air or liquid, with cooling plates or other systems.

component selection

Some of the vehicles that we electrify are designed to work in extreme conditions. High humidity, tough duty cycles, long operating times.

Some others have more relaxed specifications due to less demanding environmental stresses. All of them require an extreme attention on the testing phase in order to reach the expected level of quality.

Thanks to our experience on the homologation and project validation phases we can guide the customer through the definition of a validation plan in the different stages of the project.

  • Motor Controller (Inverter)

  • Charger

  • Power Connectors

prototype integration

In many projects we have taken care of the manufacturing of the EV prototypes by integrating the power electronic into the final vehicle. This service involves:

  • Definition of the communication between each component

  • Design of the high and low voltage routing

  • Production of power electronic components (e.g. battery pack or motor)

  • Sourcing of off the shelf components (e.g. connectors, charger)

  • Mechanical integration of all the components on the vehicle

On those prototypes we can perform tests and measures according to the project requirements.
